When attempting to restore a backup of PortfolioCenter database I received the following (rather intimidating error) pictured above:
Restore failed for Server: Exclusive access could not be obtained because the database is in use.
Closing and re-opening the PortfolioCenter Management Console failed to solve the problem. Neither did restarting the computer solve it.
However the fix is simple (once you know what it is).
Click the Active Connections button (the last one on the list) and then select “Close All Connections” (even if no connections are listed).
